Rainbow Falls Trek FAQ!
When is the trek?
It will be a three – day trek from 28th July to 30th July 2017. We will meet early in the morning (0700 @ Kranji MRT) and be back at night (2200 @ Kranji MRT, 2030 @ JB Central)
Where is Rainbow Falls?
Rainbow Falls is located in Sungai Lembing. Approximately 45 km northwest of Kuantan, Sungai Lembing, “river” (sungai) and “spear” (lembing) was once a tin mining town. Today, Sungai Lembing has transformed itself into a sleepy little town while retaining some unique sights.
How much is the trip? What does the cost include?
The cost of the trek is $150 (Non-members)/ $145 (Members).
It includes all transportation to and from JB and Kuantan, 2 nights stay at Miners Cottage and Trek Permits and Trek Guides. It also includes a BBQ Dinner that will be happening on the second day of the trek.
What is the difficulty rating of this trek?
The trek is about 2/5.
What is the brief itinerary?

What about meals throughout the day?
Only the BBQ dinner on 29 July will be provided. The participants are required to pay for the rest their meals (a total of 3 Breakfast, 3 Lunch and 2 Dinner).
Where will we spend our nights?
We will spend the 2 night at a family inn (Miners cottage) at Sungei Lembing.
Will there be a local guide?
We will be using public & chartered bus and have enlisted local guides for the Rainbow Falls hike. For the Mt Panorama hike, follow our trek leaders lead! =D
How many participants will be on this trek?
We have 5 committee members and can bring a maximum of 15 participants on the trek.
What about inclement weather?
Decision will be made on the ground with the guide to see whether it is safe to continue! If it is of course we would go for it! But remember safety first!! In the event of rain, please be prepared to waterproof your gear and yourself. We will continue the trek and adjust accordingly if it is not too dangerous.
Do I have to purchase my own insurance?
For current NUS Students, insurance will be covered by NUS Insurance Policy. For non-NUS students, you are required to purchase your own insurance for the trek.
Do I have to purchase my own visa?
For participants from countries that do not have visa exemptions, you are required to purchase your own visa. To ensure a smooth transit, we will require proof of your visa application closer to the date.
