Regarded as one of the most beautiful summit views in Southeast Asia, Mt Rinjani stands at 3762m and is the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Join us on a 3D2N trek to conquer this summit! We will start the trek at Sembalun Village in Lombok and hike up to Crater Rim 2. The next day would be more challenging and beautiful as we ascend to the summit for sunrise, take a dip in the hot springs of crater Lake Segara Anak and camp at Crater Rim 1. The trek will then end in Senaru Village, Lombok.
Apart from the trek, we will be staying at Senggigi beach in Lombok, visiting Bali to embark on a white water rafting adventure and do a mini trek at the Campuhan Ridge Walk.

It is from 13 May to 20 May 2018 (8D 7N). We will be meeting at Changi Airport on 13 May at 1330 and arrive back in Singapore at around 0900 on 20 May 2018.

Mt Rinjani is regarded as one of the most beautiful treks in Southeast Asia. It is the second highest active volcano in Southeast Asia, standing at 3726m. We will be flying to Bali, Indonesia and will reach Mt Rinjani in Lombok, accessible via a ferry from Bali.
Before and after the trek, we will be staying in Bali. The trek will take place in Mt Rinjani National Park in Lombok. We will be visiting Senaru waterfalls, Lake Segara and Senggigi beach. During RnR we will be going for white water rafting at Ayung river, followed by a trek at the Campuhan Ridge Walk.
This trip is rated a 4/5. The trek gradient is very steep during the summit climb. The second day of the trek covers a very long distance (~20km) and includes multiple uphill and downhill climbs. At altitudes constantly above 3000m, one might be susceptible to acute mountain sickness.
This trek requires you to be very physically fit and have no medical issues. A lot of mental strength will be needed to push yourself on the summit climb. Don’t be discouraged though, you do not need trekking experience in order to come for this trek. You just need to do your own physical training in preparation.
The price for non-Rovers members is $790 SGD. Price for Rovers members is $751 SGD. (Rovers members are entitled to 5% discount on all treks, capped at $50 SGD.)
Trip fees cover airfare, accommodations, trekking guides & permits, meals during the trek, transport and water rafting in Bali.
Food before and after the trek, transport during free & easy, shopping costs, visa fees (if required), check-in baggage costs and personal medication are not included in the fees and will be borne by participants themselves.
Day 1 (13th May): Evening flight from Singapore (SIN) to Bali (DPS), Proceed to accommodation, rest for the night.
Day 2: Travel to Lombok (Senaru Village) by fast boat and van. Senaru Waterfall tour. Accommodation (Homestay) at Senaru.
Day 3: Proceed to Sembalun Village to begin the trek. Trek up to Crater Rim 2 and camp for the night
Day 4: Sunrise trek up to Mt Rinjani summit. Descend to Lake Segara and visit hot springs. Trek up to Crater Rim 2. Camp for the night.
Day 5: Descend to Senaru Village. Proceed to Sengigi beach accommodation for the night. Free & Easy at Sengigi beach.
Day 6: Travel to Bali in the morning. Free & easy in Bali for the evening
Day 7: RnR in Bali: Water rafting in Ayung river followed by a trek at Campuhan Ridge walk
Day 8: Early morning flight to Singapore.
The monsoon season will be over and it get really warm at Bali and Lombok. The temperature at sea level will be about 25 – 33 degrees Celsius. However, during the trek at Mt Rinjani, the weather will be very cold (5 degrees Celsius) due to the high altitude. Mountain weather is unpredictable and it might rain. Therefore, pack good winter wear and a poncho/waterproof jacket.
For the 3 days of the trek, we will be sleeping in sturdy tents on campsites situated at the crater rims. For other days in Bali and Lombok, we will be staying in hostels and homestays.
Yes, there will be English speaking trek guides from the trekking agency.
We are only accepting a total of 13 participants in this trek. 3 committee members will be leading the trek. Slots are limited, so sign up fast!
