Rainbow Falls Trek 2016
When is the trip?
The trip is from 26th to 28th July 2016 (3D2N). We will be meeting at Kranji MRT station on 26th July at 7.00am. We will return back to Singapore on 28th July at around 10.00pm.
Where will we be visiting?
The main highlight of this trek is Rainbow Falls. Rainbow Falls is situated in Sungai Lembing, which is located approximately 45km northwest of Kuantan, in Pahang, Malaysia. Apart from Rainbow Falls, we will also be exploring Bukit Panorama, which boasts magnificent and breathtaking scenic views, making it a popular spot for watching the sunrise.
What is so special about Rainbow Falls?
Past visitors to Rainbow Falls describe the sight of the waterfall with the colourful arch of rainbow as ‘magical’. Besides, this is the only trek where you get to see a naturally occurring rainbow at a waterfall. This natural phenomenon occurs at around 9am to 11am daily (when the weather is good).
What is the itinerary like?
Day 1: Travel to Sungai Lembing, settle down at accommodation and rest early in preparation for the following day’s activities.
Day 2: Trek to Rainbow Falls and BBQ dinner.
Day 3: Trek up Bukit Panorama and return back to Singapore.
What is the difficulty rating of this trek?
1.5 out of 5 stars. The treks to Rainbow Falls and up Bukit Panorama are about 1 to 2 hours each.
How long are the various travel times?
The bus rides from Singapore to Sungai Lembing, Malaysia will be approximately 7 hours in total. We will be having breakfast and lunch along the way while travelling from Singapore to Sungai Lembing, so our journey will be longer than 7 hours.
The bus rides back to Singapore from Sungai Lembing will also take about 7 hours in total. We will be having lunch and dinner along the way while travelling from Sungai Lembing back to Singapore, so our journey will be longer than 7 hours as well.
How much does the trip cost? What does the cost include?
The cost of this trek is $150. The cost includes transport (to Malaysia, Sungai Lembing, and back to Singapore, and to the various trek locations), accommodation, travel insurance, and BBQ dinner on the second night.
Where will we be spending our nights?
We will be staying at Country View Inn in Sungai Lembing for both nights.
How and where will we be having our meals?
All meals (except dinner on the second night) will be at own expense. Participants will be informed during the pre-trek briefing (so as to plan how much money to bring along).
Will there be shower facilities?
Yes, there will be shower facilities at our accommodations.
