Berkelah Waterfalls

Located at Kuantan, Malaysia, Berkelah Waterfalls is a popular spot amongst trekkers and water lovers.. Standing a 150m tall drop, it’s certainly a breathe taker.  The whole waterfall consists of a series of cascades and intermediate waterfalls. The final waterfall has a big pool below where you can jump into to have a splashing good time! (Not recommended for those with a fear of heights and life vests are not provided!)

A little known mountain located at Rembau in the state of Negri Sembilan.  Standing at a height of 870m/2900ft, the summit offers a splendid unobstructed panorama view of the entire state. You can even see the Straits of Melaka on a good day. It can get quite windy at the summit so a windbreaker is quite essential. With NUS Rovers’ Datuk Trek, if the weather permits, we would be able to see both Sun rise and Sun set.

Gunung Stong

Gunung Stong is located in Kelantan, in one of Malaysia’s many primeval & largely unexplored rainforests. It offers endless opportunities to observe rare flora and fauna along the trek to the summit. Gunung Stong, which stands at a height of 1433m/4701ft, is ranked fifth, out of a list of ten very special places for eco-tourism in Malaysia. This trekking spot is renowned for its imposing rugged mountains, beautiful wildlife, amazing flora, surrounding majestic limestone caves and its 7 waterfalls, including one of Malaysia’s highest and most dramatic – Lata Jeri. Be rewarded by the breathtaking sight of foaming water thundering down the smooth, sheer granite face of Lata Jeri. With NUS Rovers’ Gunung Stong trek, besides trekking up the summit, we would be exploring the caves of Gunung Stong, Dagger Cave etc.

Gunung Ledang (Mount Ophir)

Locally it is called Gunung Ledang. Johor’s most popular mountain, Standing at a height of 1276 m, Ophir can be physically challenging during the climb to the summit, as the whole trek has many steep slopes and stairs. If you are lucky, you may even come up close and personal with the fauna there! Believed to have the richest flora species in the world, Gunung Ledang would certainly ease your tension from the hustle and bustle life of the city.

Berembun Cemerong & Langsir

A Trek which allows you to explore the terrains of two mountains, Gunung Berembun and Gunung Cemerong.  The Langsir waterfall is certainly more breathe taking than what you could see from the photograph that we took above. The entire trek can be physically demanding, as we will be trekking with our full loads. We will stop over at two campsites, which one of them is actually on top of Langsir Waterfall. Imagine yourself, with your friends, immersed in the cold icy water at the pool on top of Langsir waterfall; that would certainly be a life time experience not to be missed!

Lata Berembun Waterfalls

It’s a trek for beginners and water lovers. Lata Berembun Waterfall is located in KG. Sg. Klau Pahang Darul Makmur. To reach Lata Berembun, we have to take a four wheel drive from Kuala Lumpur. The extreme pseudo monster truck ride up the rocky terrain would certainly set your adrenaline rushing. There are a total of 7 waterfalls; however, only 3 waterfalls are allowed for access. You will be provided with Life-vests to enjoy the slides down the waterfalls by the strong pulsating jets of water.  The campsite is located in front of one of the waterfalls, so everyone would be able to enjoy the comfort of natural air-conditioning.

Lombong Waterfalls

The Lombong  Waterfall is located at the outskirts of Kota Tinggi, just next to the Kota Tinggi Holiday Resort. It is a challenging trek as it covers several different terrains. The terrain ranges from flat grounds, to along river trails, river crossings, trekking in the river to climbing steep slopes. There are many instances which may require you to be all fours. You might get muddy and dirty, but along the trek there will be a series of waterfalls and the streams which you could indulge yourself in the natural Jacuzzi.

Jerangkang Waterfalls

A more recently discovered waterfall in Kampung Paya Bungor, Pahang, there are 43 separate waterfalls leading up to the main waterfall! The fall ends in a nice pool, which is the campsite’s bathroom; certainly a nice place to relax and swim.

Endau-Rompin National Park, located in the state of Johor, contains the one of world’s oldest rainforests. The park got its name from the two rivers flowing through it; the Endau river and the Rompin river. Endau-Rompin is a habitat to some unique flora and fauna. It has some of Malaysia’s best waterfalls namely Buaya Sangkut, Upeh Guling and Batu Hampar all within trekking distance to each other. It’s really a get-away from the hustle and bustle life of the city. A plus point for this trek: you get to sleep in huts with mattresses and shower in the clean toilets they have at base camp!
